VAT Query

Hi,

I'm relatively new to selling on ebay and just wanted to check. My products are all VAT exempt and therefore I am unable to register for VAT with the gov.

I notice that eBay is charging me 20% VAT on my 11.9% +30p seller fees... Is this right? As it is impossible for me to ever claim this VAT back and it eats away more of my profits.

It's correct VAT is charged on eBay fees

Private sellers have VAT included in fees, business sellers pay it as extra.
