Go to the ACcount tab on your My ebay page then communication preferences 

and choose which you want and those you dont want

Thanks, did it via laptop, doesn't work on Android under mobile or classic site, there's a glitch.

Yes the app is useless for many things so if you have a problem it is always best to try a computer or laptop
Or ebay on the phone through a browser not the app
