Suspect buyer has broken item deliberately

Hi everyone
I'm fuming and just need some advice tbh I sold an item of my bespoke Jewellery it was packed well and Boxed now the buyer has said received damaged and wants a refund and me to oayreturn postage or they won't return and claim refund. After looking at the photos it is obvious that the necklace ( heavy with lots of strands and charms) has been pulled apart it's in lots of little pieces no way was it damaged like that in post it could only end up like that if pulled apart many times
I don't see why I should pay international return post I'm upset as it was an expensive piece I spent hours on and now I can't even re-sell it but still want pieces back to re-work into a new item what does everyone think ? I feel cheated women being rude and will obs leave me negative too😩😩
Thanks for reading guys

The only good news is that if it's an international return eBay's system of prepaid postal labels isn't available so your buyer may have to pay the return postage.

Other than that, as you probably know eBay almost always seems to take the buyer's word against the sellers. Any number of sellers have complained here that they have still been made to refund buyers whom they allege have returned items which they have damaged, or even switched for another one.
