Sold item issue

Hi i recently sold a car on here and the winning bidder came and collected the car and paid in cash and that was that he was happy and so was i he told me he didnt really use ebay as he wasnt good on computers so when he got home he emailed me saying car is great etc so because i was in work i asked my partner to close the sale on ebay but she has clicked the wrong icon and now ebay is under the belief that i wanted to return the item which isnt the case so now im being asked to refund 1800 pound for no reason how do i stop this please

adding to the advice already given -

you were paid in cash so there's no way to force you to refund.

I didn't think it was possible for a seller to open a return on their own item but now the buyer is the only one who can close it.   However I wouldn't contact them about it.    Just leave it and it will expire eventually.
