Seller not answering messages

Hi, I've recently been the highest bidder and 'won' an item, I've messaged the seller several times to confirm collection details and how they wish to be payed, either through eBay, bank transfer or simply cash on collection..

no response whatsoever, I don't feel confident in simply paying £8800 through eBay without any response from the seller..... how do I proceed

Collection items should always be cash on collection and after you have gone and checked the item over in person

You then pay either cash of bank transfer and take the item away

that is  a lot of money to take any risks with

If the seller is not responding then you may need to contact ebay as if you have not paid ebay will message you and after a 4 days the transaction can be cancelled and you would get a non payment strike on your account

You should not have to be messaging the seller as they should be contacting you will collection details
