So I made an offer on an item and the total
cost was £150. When I put the best offer in, the item description or title did not say anything about the machine being for spares/repairs. Only after my offer was accepted and I paid without thinking to read the item description again because why would you? You would pay as I did. So I've paid and layer on the same evening I've seen her item description changed to saying what's wrong with it and at the bottom saying" I won't accept a refund bevause I've said what's wrong with it"
I messaged her and she was so rude, saying that the description was there when I put my offer which it wasn't, because I don't offer on something that isn't working properly. Now I can't cancel it or refund it. Because she was being so argumentative I've just told her fine. I can see how it works and try to deal with it. It's a Cricut explore air 2, so she says it doesn't cut properly.
I want to know is that possible for the item details to be changed PRIOR to her accepting my offer?
I don't think this has ever arisen before, but if no other bids have been made I suppose it might be possible for a seller to revise a listing in between an offer being made and accepted.
Unfortunately eBay has removed the facility to see what revisions have been made to listings, or when.
The seller has listed the item as "used", but added her own statement that it was sold for spares or repair only. Unfortunately for you, in this particular category "used" simply states that you should refer to the description for faults.
You could try contacting eBay customer support, it's possible that they can still see any revisions made. This would at least establish who is correct about this.
listings cannot be revised when there is an offer on the table,
I looked at listing, NO revisions have been made, so was listed as spare or repair from the start.
As far as I am aware just as with a bid, once an offer is made it is not possible to edit the listing until the offer expires.
On every listing it shows any edits made and you should look to see what it says on this listing.
I have also looked at the listing, any edits would be shown under where it says "Seller assumes all responsibiity for this listing". There is nothing there.
Unless ebay has recently changed things, it is impossible for a listing to be altered or revised once it has been sold.
It must have said or been in the 'Spares or repairs' category when you made the offer. Maybe you missed it?
