Returned item sent to old address

When I agreed a return I noticed that my return address defaulted to an old address.

I corrected this but the buyer was sent the incorrect address. I have tried to contact the person who lives at my old address as I don’t know them and my old neighbors have moved out so I can’t ask them to check.

This was not the buyers fault and I requested eBay ensure their refund was processed but I want to know where I stand if I can’t get my item back?

Is there any protection for the seller as I did update my info and don’t know whether there’s a way of claiming for eBay defaulting the wrong address?

as the return label was printed with the old address it means you didn't update your address for returns

go to:-

my ebay >>> account tab >>> addresses

there are at least 4 different addresses there and you have to change each one,

updating one does not affect the others,

this was your mistake, not ebays, so you can't make a 'claim'
