Reserve fees etc

Do eBay now take all fees owed on other items when a current item is sold? I just made a loss on an item because eBay used it for fees on items that are still active and don't even have any bids yet?

Also, are reserve price fees refunded? I was charged, paid through the sale of a different item, then lowered the reserve price - will I be refunded? I'm a private seller. Thanks all

REserves are very expensive and are non returnable

Best to start at a price you are willing to accept

It always tells you just before you list how much that listing or revision will cost

When the buyer pays ebay take the money and then take off their fees and pay the remainder into your bank

They do not take final value fees before the item sells but if you owe insertion fees they will take them

You can check exactly what you are being charged by going to Payment on the seller hub

the fees for using a reserve and adding buy it now etc are charged as soon as the listing goes live,

so ebay take that from any available funds, they don't wait for the item to sell,

the fee for using a reserve is non refundable, if you lower the reserve you don't get a refund on the difference, quite often you are charged for both

using a reserve is a waste of money, you should just set the start price at the minimum you are willing to sell for.
