Problems with a purchase. Seller does not support warranty.

Goodnight.

I'm writing to ask for help with a request I'm having problems with.

I made the purchase on April 5, 2021 and received it on April 8, 2021.

The product is a mobile device and as advertised by the seller the product has a 1 year warranty.

The product stopped working and I have already contacted the seller 4 times (10/Jul - 12/Jul - 15/Jul - 18/Jul) so that he can give me a solution (do the repair, change the product or return the product money) but the seller does not respond to my emails.

That's why I ask eBay for help to contact the seller to resolve the issue.

Thank you very much.

EBay's money back guarantee covers most items sold here, but only for 30 days after delivery. After that, they will not get involved, whatever the problem. PayPal buyer protection lasts longer, for 180 days, but only covers faults present on delivery. Neither will get involved in warranties or faults that occur in use. If you paid through another payment provider you can check their terms and conditions.

Otherwise, any responsibility now rests with the seller. If they're a UK business seller you have your statutory consumer rights, but enforcing them for items bought on eBay can be difficult or impossible. Even manufacturers' warranties are liable to be invalid for items bought here.

You can consult trading standards or citizens advice, or consider using the small claims court or the Courts and Tribunals internet-based money claim service: https://www.moneyclaim.gov.uk/web/mcol/welcome. If the seller is abroad, there won't be anything you can do.

These are the risks of buying from unknown sellers online. EBay is not like the shops.
