Paypal stopped working with ebay

As of Friday I am unable to make payments using paypal. It was all working on Wednesday!)

Apparantly there is a new paypal 'POP-UP' login screen which simply fails to appear

I am using win10 & firefox.  (I do not use chrome, nore Edge) I don't have any google or MS accounts.

I have disabled my ad-blockers and have cleared the firefox cache severl times and also restrted win10 several times.

ebay concierge support can offer no guidance - they have pushed it to techies - I have had no update from them since I posted it & the ticked raised.

Anyone got any ideas?

A whole host of permissions on my account where also changed on Thursday/Friday (not by me) - ebay advise no security issues on the account and they have not changed anything.  Well things don't break without someone changing something...I have been in IT for long enough to know.

just a guess - PayPal are asking their account holders to confirm a phone number for their account, they then send a code to the phone and you have to enter the code in the window in your account.

[I did this the other day].

Seemingly something to do with EU law.

I too have seen the potentil for that when when I try to logon directly to Paypal - but it has not cut in yet for me.

There may or may not be a similar item for the API between Paypal/ebay. The phone number (on ebay) was originally wrong, I corrected that the same day of the problem, (Friday) & flushed cache & re-booted, but to no avail.

I think the potential issue is two factor authentication has been added, requiring that ebay have to ditch the automated payment interface, hence the new logon pop-up. The problem for me is why the pop-up does not appear and there is absolutely no other indications as to the problem. Suspect it is bad API design that has then not bee fully tested before it was pushed out. Happy to be proved wrong.
