Paying vat as a private seller plus my goods are old secondhand

Hi why do I have to pay vat on my listing as I'm not a business no shop just a normal guys selling bits out my loft all are second hand items any info would be great thanks

You don't pay VAT on your items, 

it is included in ebay fees.

You always paid this, but ebay now show it separately.
