PAYPAL

I HAVE HAD A BUYER ASKING FOR MY PAYPAL ACCOUNT TO BE ABLE TO PAY FOR AN ITEM. IS THIS RISKY??

Hi

To me YES.    If you sell through Ebay then they should not have a problem paying by Paypal .  You are an experienced member so presumably there is no problem with your own Paypal account receiving payments.

There is a scam......

A buyer tells you that they have a problem with their Paypal account sending payments and asks you for your Paypal details.

What happens then is.....

A   You will be sent a real looking but FAKE Paypal notification saying you have been paid.   When you log into your actual Paypal account you will find there is no payment there.   A scammer hopes you will just rely on the email and post the item without actually checking that the money is in your account.

B.  They are going to pay you from a hacked account.

Also you are not allowed to send any Paypal details or contact details pre sale.   If you attempt to do this....it can result in your account

being suspended permanently.

You really must be on your toes regarding the items you are selling....scammers target these type of items.  Remember gut instinct is a wonderful thing.

Remember......you only post to the address given on Paypal to maintain what little seller protection Ebay give sellers.

Hope the above helps.
