I have opened up a case, but there isn't an option to ask ebay to step in.

I'm also unsure how to reply to a comment on the ebay community.

You escalate the dispute after 8 full days of opening the dispute

The option only appears 8 days to the minute of you opening it

You cant reply on the Member to Member thread but can go to Options then Edit 

Add your comments but leave the original question so we can follow the thread
