Item refunded

I have had a deft collection notice due to fees owed , I have contacted eBay numerous times I sold an item the buyer said he had not received it and got issued a refund but I know he had the item as it was sent , now I m owing £360 in fees I have contacted the police but it's a civil matter and eBay have been no help at all. Please advise asap
