I've been trying to contact ebay about this but it's set up so I can't contact them for several days.
I wanted to buy a pair of water butts. I found some at £34 per pair which in hindsight was rediculously cheap.
I convinced myself that the seller had priced them each and not for a pair. I ordered and paid for them and about 3 days later the Royal Mail tracking told me they had been delivered and signed for. NOT BY ME THEY HADN'T. I contacted the seller and got a polite reply saying he would chase it up. I've not heard anything since.
The seller, andmar 2349 had 100% positive feedback which I thought was good over 2349 transactions.I later realised the 2349 was part of his user name. He'd actually only done 2 transactions. The feedback rating has now gone down to 67% for 1 transaction.
Beware of another seller, kebai 5906 who is also selling water butts at the price of £35. could this be the same person??!! I feel a bit stupid for falling for this. Hoping I'll get my money back from ebay when I'm finally allowed to talk to them!!!
Signed for deliveries do not have to be signed by the reciepient of the item indeed your postie can sign on your behalf.
A water butt is not small so no point telling you to look and see if it has been placed somewhere safe around your property.
Do you know your postie? Ask them where they left this item, if tracking has shown delivery you have not been scammed.
