I am thinking of leaving negative feedback for sellers that do not leave feedback

I currently have 20 items in my 60 day purchase history with no feedback. The rules state that a seller must leave feedback as soon as the buyer has paid. I know a good amount hold off with the intention of revenge negative feedback if they don't get positive, but even after I have left positive feedback, so many sellers cannot be bothered.

So I think I may now start leaving negative feedback to all sellers who are breaking the rules, or simply cannot be bothered. Buyers deserve feedback too.

Clearly a wind up thread - you are not buying feedback, you are buying items.

And you would be breaching eBay's policy to do so.

Buyer feedback is totally worthless anyway - it is meaningless in any context you could show it in and has been for over 10 years now.

A lot of seller's (me included) have settings to auto leave feedback once some has been received - simply because it isn't worth spending any of our time worrying about it.

You paid for an item - whoop-di-doo - you want a gold star and lolly too?

Completely and utterly incorrect.

please provide a link to this rule

feedback is VOLUNTARY

no one HAS to leave feedback is is entirely up to each individual whether they leave feedback

leaving negative feedback just because you didn't receive any isn't acceptable

No 'rules are being broken'. Leaving feedback is voluntary for both buyers and sellers.

There is little point to buyer feedback, as sellers cannot leave them negative feedback anyway.

Leaving negative feedback just because a seller didn't give you a green dot is petty, and will get you added to many blocked bidder lists!

Some sellers have auto feedback set up, so as soon as the buyer leaves feedback, they will get an immediate one back. Some sellers wait until they know that the buyer is happy with everything before they leave feedback. And some sellers (like many buyers!) do not leave feedback at all.

It's not really something to get hung up about.

You are mistaken. Feedback is voluntary on both sides and in any case should be left at the end of the transaction. Feedback isn't just about paying - many sellers have had buyers who pay, but then turn out to be a buyer from hell!

If you try to leave negative feedback because a seller hasn't left you positive feedback this will probably be removed by eBay, and you will receiving a warning for feedback policy violation. Buyers are not allowed to leave negs because a seller hasn't done something that eBay doesn't require them to do. And eBay doesn't require members to leave feedback.
