HERMES delivered to a letter box - leaving parcel visible for everyone - parcel GOT STOLEN - HELP

I bought something of ebay was delievred by HERMES tracked.

ALthough both my husband and I were at home at 19.40 pm ( we are wokring form home anyway ) 

- HERMES has allegedly delivered parcel to the LETTER BOX ( yes I got a picture to prove it ) leaving parcel - rather OUTSIRE - visable for everyuone - I check status being delivered and aske dthe seller to help me found it - he said - item was DELIVERED not his problem anymore. 

My letter box got messed with and this morning - post man has come to my door to tell me THAT - my letter box got smashed as if someone had tried to TAKE somthing ouf from it. 

the parcel GOT STOLEN , seller wont help. WHAT are my options please help.

If the item was tracked as delivered, there is nothing you can do through eBay. They can't and don't attempt to investigate disputed deliveries. Cases are decided according to the tracking record. This is explained in eBay's money back guarantee policy, which forms part of the user agreement.

This has become a significant risk when buying through eBay. It's easy to see why. Anyone can sign for parcels, it doesn't have to be the buyer. Some services don't even require a signature. Parcels may be left with neighbours, delivered to the wrong address or left in a "safe place" to be lost or stolen. This has become a significant risk of buying through eBay, made worse by pressure for low delivery charges leading so many sellers to use budget couriers.

Report the Theft to the Police. Sorry but nothing you can do through Ebay.
