Faulty item after < 3 months

I bought a replacement laptop charger in mid-September and it had now failed (30 November). According to English distance selling laws I am entitled to repair or refund from the retailer. Will eBay support this position if I contact the retailer and request a refund/repair?

eBay wont help you, no, you need to make a case within 30 days of purchase.

Doesn't stop you contacting the seller and asking them though.
