Hi,
I purchased a laptop battery from an eBay shop in March 2021. The listing stated it came with a 12 month warranty. Last week the battery developed a fault and one of the cells has swollen up. Making the laptop dangerous to use, as I am worried it could explode. I contacted the seller on the 11th July they responded the next day. Asked me to confirm my delivery address with the order and stated they would revert back to me. I responded immediately, minutes after their message. I got a reply by on 12th July to state they will look into and come bak to me. I haven't heard anything from them. I have tried to message them a couple of days later and no response. Can I get eBay to step in? There doesnt seem to be any options against the order in my purchase history for this item apart from contact seller and sell similar item. Please advise what I can do? Thanks
You are out of time on ebay as you had 30 days to open a dispute and that is for items that are not working when you receive them and not a warranty
Ebay and paypal money back guarantees are for items that are not as described when they arrive
and not a warranty.
Any warranty is between you and the seller.
If they are business in the UK then contact Citizens Advice for their help.
If overseas or a private seller then there is nothing you can do.
See the bottom of the page on the link where it says
Ebay Money Back Guarantee is not a product warranty
