End auction-style listings early fee

I need clarification on why Ebay charged me £0.60 for an item that I didn’t sell: 

10-Jul 07:39:50 Vandoren Bb clarinet reeds, CR102. Size 2
223053067522 Highest bid price £5.99 223053067522 End auction-style listings early fee  £0.60

I had to end the auction because I discovered that the item is faulty. I acted as a responsible seller and I find it disgraceful that Ebay charged me for something that I didn’t get money for!

How can I challenge this?

eBay policy is clear.....

If you end a listing for ANY REASON once there are bids then their fees are charged based on the highest bid when you end it

The same applies after the end of a listing for seller initiated cancellations including due to damage/loss & theft
