as you weren't expecting the fees,

you clearly didn't read the fee structure or the listing form as you prep[ared your listing,

the fees are quite clear.

Plus the PayPal fees which you could have saved on by asking for cash [or such like] on collection - PayPal is not safe for collected items especially of this value.

I dont use ebay much and wasnt expecting this.

Which makes it all the more important to check the fees when you do use it.

You can find full details of eBay's fees here: http://sellercentre.ebay.co.uk/private/what-fees-youll-pay

Which is why there are 2 clear warnings on the listing form.  One is right next to the reserve box you filled in, stating that fees will apply.  Then at the bottom of the listing form the fees are clearly displayed right above the  "list with displayed fees"  button.    This gives you the opportunity to go back and remove any extras that you don't want to pay for.

Seller fees are clearly stated on the site.....10% max £250 of the sale fee

Reserves are an expensive waste of time & money.....4% of the reserve set sale or no sale each time you list.....max £150 per listing

If yyou had simply started the sale at the minimum you wanted then you would have saved £127.87 & would only have paid £250....which would only have equated to 7.8%
