Direct debit ?

Hi I've been asked to set up a direct debit on my account to replace PayPal ? Will I be charged every month even though I've not sold or brought anything ? Tia

Where did you recieve the request?>

All messages come through your My ebay messages and that message does not seem correct.

Ebay are changing to managed payments and members are being asked to update their bank cards.

As far as I know not set up a direct debit.

I was sent an email saying that I need to update my bank details before the 31st may as they will no longer be using PayPal ??

That is correct. Ebay take payment and then take off their fees and put the remainder in your bank. If you dont sell then you would not need to do that . All sellers have to do it to sell.

eBay and the banks are calling the link a direct debit but they won't use it to take money out of your account (unless you owe them something possibly following a dispute with a buyer).
