I listed a car and someone hit buy it now instantly.
He then tried to haggle the price saying he'd done it by accident because he thought it was a much lower price. I realised it was a dealer trying it on, so I said I'd relist or offered a meet in the middle price, but he just went silent.
I then got messages from a third party offering the same low price & pretending to be from another part of the country - obviously I suspect this was him using another account.
I offered same meet in the middle price that I had offered the first time, but again he went silent.
So, I cancelled the sale & now can't relist until he agrees - which he's ignoring.
There doesn't seem to be any way to get eBay to help other than waiting 10 days.
Seems wrong that anyone can just shut you down like this and there's no come back.
Anyone able to advise?
Thanks
Never a good idea to cancel for non payer timewasters ... for information >
See eBay Auto opened, actioned and Auto closed > Unpaid/Late payers/Cancel < case process which can be closed after 5 days to recover FVF selling fees and timewasters are given a non payment defect/strike =
'We’ll proactively send reminders to buyers asking them to pay. After 5 calendar days, sellers can cancel the transaction using the 'Buyer hasn't paid' reason in Seller Hub'.'
Sellers can also set their Preferences to handle cases manually >

Should you relist, consider > Classified Ads. = £19.99 for 28 days with No FVF selling fees ... Contact details are allowed to view the vehicle and negotiate an acceptable price ... only remove the listing when you have the Vehicle Cash Payment (or cleared/confirmed Bank Transfer) in hand on personal inspection/collection before handing keys and documents to the buyer ... No 3rd party collection/shipping arrangements or PayPal payments ... there is No payment protection offered for Vehicles >
