Red Cross Appeal Tsunami Disaster

Hi I know this is off topic but the Red Cross accept donations online. The address to donate is www.redcross.org.uk/donate

This will probably get me flak for posting in the wrong place but if all the treasure hunters donated just a pound we could make a difference.

Please donate as much as you can.

Presumably this was declared state-aid at time article was posted or a typing error - I did a straight copy,paste&reference...Id gone to fox's website after reading posts on eBay_com ...
As for the discrepancy between the French contribution between my post & yours - isnt nearly as severe as the discrepancy in the German contribution!
However Fox update in last few hours, French jumped up to $20m and German fallen to $27m ... no doubt the french&german had been lumped together...
Dont have tv beside computer - but foxnews channel normally cites reuteurs...

Would personally like to see a donation method whereby PayPal could be used - ive no strong feels for/against any specific aid-agency, but I still dont like donating via credit-card. Donations I already make are cash or cheque.
I also like to donate my money to cause who pass on 100% or virtually all of the donation - I do not like making donations to charities who absorb a large percentage of donation to cover their running costs. Ive looked around a couple of the DEC-linked agencies & cant find specific information from any of them how much they keep as admin. costs & how much they pass on..
If anyone knows, could they please post. I want my money to go where it will have the greatest benefit.
DirectReliefInternational(DirectRelief.org) is one ogranisation who pledges that "less than 1% of support goes to admin & fundraising expeneses"

DONATE WITH PAYPAL AVAILABLE!!!
You can donate to WORLD VISION with paypal....
You may be advised to look more into it yourselves & not take my advice - however from what I can see :
1)I CANT find a paypal link on their UK site.
2)So far as I can see - it has to be in US DOLLARS...
www.worldvision.org (their US Site)....
3)I DIDNT MAKE A DONATION - however:
I cliked on the "donate now" - You select an amount from preset (or other & type in what you want...)
On next page - fill in name/address etc - default is "donate by CreditCard" - can "Change to PayPal" ...
Click "checkout" - are then redirected to secure paypal checkout page.
4)Payments are made to "Kintera" - Kintera are a provider of software that helps nonprofit organisations (essentially accept donations via the web). Several thousand NPOs/NGOs use them....
5)WorldVision channeled 86% of every dollar received in 2003 .... 14% on admin/fundraising costs.

Brilliant. I just love the way people pull together to help those most in need. It is heartwarming to see what is essentially an underlying love coming through to reach out and help. 🙂

Sorry, but I am not allowed to credit anyone with the above, including myself. I therefore accept no responsibility for anything I say! :^O I am not a rebel, I just don't conform 😉

ooops my post was supposed to follow one above but no matter, that's brilliant too 🙂 So sad the toll keeps rising though and my heart goes out to all those who have lost or are missing loved ones. 😞

Can anyone help me with this please?

I have two websites that I would like to put a button or something on to enable people to donate directly to whatever is the best place to. Or a link where they can go to an official site to do so. I'm a bit lost here so any help you could give would be great 🙂 Thanks

I know, I read that elsewhere but can't find an answer to my problem above. The sites I want to put donating links/buttons on are nothing to do with Ebay. They are both non-commercial sites. Just hoped someone would know something.
