Malacandran, this game is a "chain" of three-word phrases with "and" as the second word. The first word of your post has to be identical to the last word of the post that preceded it. Therefore, as the previous post said "Respirators and Monitors" you ought to have followed up with something that continued the chain - for example:
Monitors and Printers

Monitors and Schoolmasters
(OK m25 - I think I got it now - thanks!)

The first word of your post has to be identical to the last word of the post that preceded it. Therefore, as the previous post said "Monitors and Printers" it was the word "Printers" that should have been the first word of the response. For example:
Printers and Scanners
So to follow on the thread, the next one will be "Scanners and ..........................."

Scanners and Photocopiers
( Is that an acceptable answer? - thanks m25 for your detailed explanation. Sorry I missed the point yet again! I think my problem was this - the games you devise are so good, that I thought there must be always be some deep level of subtlety involved. But now I realise, that this particular one is admirably straightforward. )

I think you're getting it now - that's an acceptable answer for this thread. One thing to remember about the games I create (although this particular game wasn't one of mine) is that the level of difficulty is never identical on all of the games. Some of them are so easy that a child could think of the answers, some are medium level difficulty which require a bit of thought before submitting the answers, and some are quite difficult and can have people stuck for ages trying to suss out the correct answer. Thanks for your feedback on the games I've submitted though - if I can get a more accurate idea as to what works and what doesn't, which games prove popular and which games practically flatline then hopefully I can make any future games interesting enough to get a lot of people actively posting responses.
Anyway, back to the thread:
