:^O trust you!!!!, noooo I meant they dont' need them to chew do they, they just chuck all that seed down and that's that. I expect it comes in handy for singing their trilling song.

I knew someone once who had a very tame, very large macaw. He used his tongue to turn nuts and fruit over in his beak till he found the best place to start peeling.

And he talked better than most people I know. Called every one by thier name, and used all his many phrases in the correct context.

Yes, parrots do that.  I used to have African greys.  They feel things with their tongues.  Their tongues are black.:-D

You do.

They're the sleek pristine ones without a feather out of place.

And clean un-gnarled baby-pink feet...

aaww pink feet, I'll look out for them:-)

I thought that we had an injured blackbird in the garden yesterday, but he'd had a bath and was lying with his wings stretched out on the lawn sunning himself:^O

I love the big colourful parrots!!. I would love to see them in their natural surroundings in the carribbean or somewhere. Im a bit wary of their beaks after a friends African grey attacked my ear once. YIKES 😞

at Colwyn Bay zoo they have two macaws that roam around the zoo. I came across them walking along a fence! they posed for photographs, but we didn't chance touching them, like you say...those beaks:O
