Who Sang this Song?

I think it is from the 1950s and was sung by a dark haired man

The only lyrics I can remember are

Lambs in the park so on a spree

Blossoms bud on the apple tree

Oh gosh, this is really bugging me! I know the song but cannot bring it to mind!

So far I've come up with this much:

Have you noticed, most of these old songs are sung in such a way that you can easily write down the lyrics because the singer has clarity and good pronunciation.

One exception I can think of is "The Seekers, The carnival is Over". If you didn't know what the words were, try to think what the last line of the third and fifth verses actually says?

I took my ten year old granddaughter to the VE Day celebrations at Aldershot. They had a singalong session, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Of course, Ella didn't know the songs - not even "Knees up Mother Brown"! Honestly, what do they teach them in school these days? I will have to put that right.

But it did get me thinking, what songs will they sing along to when they're grown up? All those old songs will be lost and there's nothing to replace them. 😒
