Tuesday's tea thread

I know that it's a bit early and we are still getting used to the new boards but what's everyone having for tea tonight?  I'm having pasta, chicken, and mixed veg done in an oyster sauce.

We usually have chicken on a Tuesday but we forgot to get it out of the freezer last night.  Instead we are having chicken and mushroom pie for him and steak pie for me, Jersey royals, white cabbage and carrots for him, cauliflower and sprouts for me and Yorkshire pudding and gravy then trifle for both of us. Woman Happy

A question gina, I've never eaten mac cheese, my hubby eats it.  He might have a dollop with bacon and egg and toms and chips etc. or he might have it on toast, but I've never given him it with a 'proper dinner' or 'cooked dinner' whatever you want to call it.  Tell me, do you put gravy on it??    I know it's just me, my son eats ham and cheese sarnies but I've just never put meat and cheese together.  I guess it's because my mum never even did mac cheese, never mind put it with anything, and my hubby doesn't eat meat, so I've never put them together.  So. do you put gravy on it??Woman Surprised

I love mac cheese but personally have always thought it strange to have it with a gravy meal. I like it with bacon in it.Woman Happy

One thing I love is ham and cheese toasties.  The last time I had them was in January when my mum was in hospital.  They were delicious.

I like a ham and cheese toastie occasionally. At present I have very little appetite and I am struggling to eat anything.

not mac cheese but cauliflower cheese. I don't like a lot of veg & will only eat cauliflower in cheese sauce. I put gravy on the meat, pots etc but not the veg. I didn't thnk to serve it as an actual veg until we had it served at a restaurant a few years back & I liked it as part of a meal. also I don't like dry food, I like sauces & gravies. It goes well with sausages etc as well.

I've also started mixing cheese & ham in toasties, really niceSmiley Happy
