Cheese on Toast

Does anyone butter the untoasted side of the bread before adding cheese?

OH has just asked me to do this and I think it's rather odd.

I used to when I made it,  but for the last few years I've made cheese toasties in the George grill instead.  I then butter all four sides, top. bottom and both insides.  Comes out all crispy, Yummy. Woman LOL

I have never buttered the bread that the cheese went on when making toasted cheese.

I'm the same as dark_castle.  I never butter the bread when I'm doing cheese on toast.  It wouldn't seem right to me to have the bread buttered.

I toast both sides of the bread under grill, then butter one side, then add a little marmite, then cheese

and melt the cheese under the grill.  Son wants it for lunch almost every day so it must be alright, I don't

often have it myself.
