15 years for Amanda Hutton............shocking

15 years for Amanda Hutton "mother" of the poor little boy who was starved to death. NOT NEARLY A LONG ENOUGH SENTENCE.

That poor little boy suffered in the most horrendous way by the person who had given birth to him.

Even the photos of him shown on TV show a sad sad little person.

Not going into all the details I have read about - all I will say is RIP little boy and may the angels take care of you in the way that you should have been treated on earth.

15 years for Amanda Hutton............shocking

TinTin, when I watched the news last night and heard the poor little mights' story I cried, how can anyone be so cruel, he fell through the net in a big way, if she didn't want him or any of her other children why oh why didn't she give him up, there would have been so many people to love him, it breaks my heart.

It seems that even his grandad (Hutton's dad) was not aware of his birth....not sure when he found out about him.....if grandad had known I am sure he would have intervened somehow as he is devastated at this his daughter has done

But look at the state of the house, surely her father would have gone to see her or were they estranged. It is so sad she should have had help years ago because of her drinking, the trouble is in this culture of blame we have nowadays people are so afraid of interfering in case they get sued, even her neighbours wouldn't interfere and they knew about the little boy and didn't miss him even after 2 years. People tend to lead such insular lives nowadays, I still find it hard to believe that no body questioned where the little boy was.

When they asked questions about the boy they were told he had gone to live with relatives. What do you do, call the woman a liar? In this case it was a lie, but would you carry on questioning someone unless you had very good reason to?

It beggars belief that someone can get away with living like this.  It was also reported that her other children were sent to school dirty and malnourished, seems like everyone except the policewoman turned a blind eye.

Poor little mite, may he rest in peace.

sure as hell isn't enough....she should have been jailed for life, real life that is.

Another reason to bring back capital punishment. That poor boy, it breaks my heart to see his little face on TV, along with all the others that have suffered the same way.
'bout time something was done to re organise the social services, something isn't working right is it?

While Amanda Hutton has to bear a level of responsibility for what she did there are others who are equally liable and will never, unfortunatley, stand trial for their crimes.

What about the Social Services?

What about the neighbours?

What about the husband?

What about the Police - if it had not of been for the CPSO the little boy would still be there!

Do we know our neighbours?  Do we show care and help to those next door, or 2 doors down?

This case is synonimous with the broken society we live in.  Until we are prepared to do something to mend our broken communities and restore good, old fashioned, neighbourliness then let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

It doesn't need me to say just how terribly, terribly tragic this is.  Once again

a little one slipped through the net whilst social services and all others

involved are too busy meddling with petty stupid stuff that doesn't concern

them.  The only person who appears to have sensed something very, very

wrong and not given up until she'd found out what, was that young policewoman.

Like most of us I cannot comprehend how somebody can be that cruel.  She may

well have needed help for her addiction but in my view there is absolutely no

excuse whatsoever for what she did.

May that little one rest in peace.

Would you all feel the same if she had an untreated mental illness? She had a disease and whilst I'm not excusing her behaviour it seems she was unable to cope.

so if she was unable to cop she should have sought help. she kept the family allowance all that time the poor little mite was dead...where did that go? down her throat.

If she is mentally ill, send her to a hospital that can help her. I doubt she is as she told her children she would kill them if they told anyone....that's crafty, not mental.
