We appreciate your cooperation and understanding in helping us keep our community focused and respectful.
To ask your question, click Reply in the lower-right corner of this post, type your question, and click Reply between 2pm and 3pm. The community team will answer each incoming question in chronological order and will quote the original question in each answer.
Please note that any reply without a question to the community team or discussion replies may be removed from the chat. We want to keep on track to get through as many questions as possible. We welcome all discussion to be moved to the discussion boards.
If you missed the weekly chat time, please ask your question in the community boards and tag us or we will be back next week with another chat!
Many thanks,

Clocks go forward on March 30, which would usually mean that any auctions that I list on March 23 would account for this & start one hour earlier (i.e. start at 6pm to end at 7pm the following Sunday).
Except that back in October last year, eBay didn't adhere to their usual policy and the end time was the same as the start time, not announcing this presumed policy change.
So is this a permanent policy change and will listings that start at 7pm on March 23 end at the same time on the 30th?

Hi I know I have raised this in the past, but I am having a nightmare with shipping times yet again.
Example this week: Cut off time on Monday 17th 2pm.
Next dispatch day set to Wednesday 19th
Monday evening 2nd class delivery time shown to buyers 19-20th.(should be 21-22nd)
Even though I cancelled my plans and dispatched yesterday their EDD should have been 20-21st not 19-20th
This meant I had to
We need cut off times to mean the EDD rolls over.
Also as I have raised with the shipping team in the past on the phone (and it was agreed it was reasonable) we need to be able to turn off same day dispatch immediately.
The situation arose last week that my husband had to 999 call an ambulance and was whisked off to hospital. I could not turn off my Monday dispatch time with immediate effect – it takes hours. Also I couldn’t put my shop on holiday mode with immediate effect. So what am I supposed to do in an emergency.
I am not Amazon with a fulfilment team and next day delivery and I don’t have staff that can take over in emergencies.
Please, please it is time sellers are heard instead of our buyers being pushed into shopping elsewhere because they get disappointed by false expectations.

Why do private accounts have a rolling monthly allowance of 300 listings? Because all it does is snowball into 1000's of listings. I can find loads of private accounts with listings over the 1000 mark.
Surely it should just reset at the end of the month. I mean if a private account has more than 300 listings they should be on a business account anyway!

Hi @jjambadger27 ,
The listing timings should not be impacted with the upcoming time change. We did link in with tech on the change last October and have been advised it will work as normal.
Thank you,
Kat

This meant I had to
- Change my plans on Tuesday and dispatch my orders from Monday evening
- Message every buyer affected by this – some of whom cancelled their order as they expected the order to arrive by 20th and went to Amazon instead.

Hi louisianna, thanks for your post.
Thanks very much for this, do you have an item number for one of your examples, so we can look into this for you to see what's happening there and see if there is anything we could do to help?
Thank you,
Marco

Hi @*kittylou*
Can you share an example of an item search where this is not working?
Thank you,

So to categorically confirm, listings starting at 6pm on March 23 will definitely end at 7pm the following Sunday?
19-03-2025 2:16 PM
Hi Marco
Thank you - its affecting all of my listings, but 2 of the ones I had to cancel are 156550378938 and 156336446047

I understand this can give the impression that an account is trading as a business, but this just allows the sellers to keep their items visible while still giving them the option to list new items.
There are account limits on each account, this is based on a number of factors which can cause them to be higher or lower based on their history. So although they can roll over, the number of items the account will be limited.
Thanks,
Dave

Thanks for your reply, louisianna.
I'll note that it is impacting all your listings, but will use those as an example. As soon as I get an update on it, I will get back to you here to let you know. Anything else, please let me know.
Thank you,
Marco

Hi @jjambadger27 ,
Yes it should operate as per the regular policy for time change.
Listings that run during a daylight saving time-change will still receive the full amount of the listing duration. For example, if you have a 1-day listing that starts at 1pm on Saturday, and the daylight saving time spring transition occurs that Saturday evening, the listing will end at 2pm on Sunday.
Thank you,
Kat

Hi Kat,
These items are sorted by Lowest Price - totals on the items are as follows:
4.36 (private) / 4.48 (private) / 4.52 (private) / 3.74 (business)
3.74 / 3.75 / 3.75 / 3.75 (all business posts)
Thanks

I think the point is why is this not available to businesses, a rollover amount would definitely be beneficial to business sellers.
This is a massive advantage to sellers on incorrect account type. 300 + 300 + 300 and so one until they have way more than the avg business.

Hi @*kittylou* ,
Thanks for the example search. Checking the search myself it does look like it may not be correct. I will log this with tech to get it checked further. Once I get an update on it I will post back.

Lovely, I will add that to the report for you no problem. Those 3 examples should do for now, I will update you now as soon as I can.

Thanks. Assume it is to do with the buyer protection fee. I know from other posts I've seen that it has been reported / discussed so they should be aware. Fingers crossed it's a quick fix.

Hi @moldosgifts
I understand where you're coming from but there is an overall limit on accounts which will then kick in to stop the listings rolling over. Once that is hit, they won't be able to list more items. This is the same for both types of accounts.
Thanks,
Dave
