Welcome to the Weekly Chat with the eBay Community Team 

 

Please ask your questions in the thread below. In order to be able to answer your questions as quickly as possible, we ask you to have one question per post. Of course, you can make as many posts as you like in the Chat- the more the merrier!

 

Our eBay Community Team is made up of kat@ebay , dave@ebay  and katie@ebay . Between us, we have knowledge in Buying, Selling, ProTrader, Fulfilment, Parts & Accessories, Payments, and the Community itself. Anything we aren’t sure on we’ll know the people who will be! Please ask us any questions you may have and we’ll do all we can to support. 

 

The Community Chat will open at 2pm and will remain open until 3pm. After that it will be closed for further questions. Of course, we will continue to take care of answering any questions that may still be unanswered—We’ll get to everything as quickly as possible. 

 

To ask your question, click Reply in the lower-right corner of this post, type your question, and click Reply between 2pm and 3pm. The community team will answer each incoming question in chronological order, and will quote the original question in each answer.

Having same problem with my auctions, with promotion getting like 5 views and no sale, compared to hundreds and a load of watchers and a high sale price.

Is that you have sent payments by BACS seeing as some people can see an upcoming payment in bank? Would save eBay a lot of hassle if were just transparent about what is happening

This was the answer i was excepting, this is absolutely ludicrous that ebay keep on saying they will be an update soon, but where is the the update to tell us that our payments will not be going in so we can at least try and arrange another method of income to pay for postage, ebay have totally let down their sellers and have messed up this big time, with payments not going in and disruption caused to us, are ebay willing to help or compensate us in any way for this very upsetting experience?

Hi @wecheck ,

 

With the removal of bot traffic it has reduced the number of views for some sellers listings. This is more accurate as its shows real views which have the potential to turn into sales.

 

We do advise to also have a look at optimising listings which can be making small changes to titles, prices, images, description and item specifics.

When are the payouts coming in? This is wrong. Items sent out, received by buyers and we dont even get message that you have problems? You dont hesitate to withold payments, resolve disputes without listening, but when we rely on payouts in this difficult time, you dont bother to let people know??? Money in bank account today before CoP 5 PM. Thank you

We do apologise for this experience and understand the frustration.  We can't guarantee any specific time for the payouts as its currently being worked on.. Once we have confirmation of the fix and when payouts will be sent we will update everyone.

Hi @rockstarmerch 

 

As part of the improvements to Promoted Listings we sometimes have to increase the minimum ad fees. This is to ensure listings compete with other site content and allows us to show the best ads to help sellers grow their business. 

 

This is also reinvested into the site to help with improvements such as the new campaign dashboard and scheduled reports.

I've been selling on eBay for 20 years. I don't need advice on optimising descriptions et al. And don't get me started on item specifics - they are useless for non-generic items.

We are currently experiencing an issue with payouts being delayed. It is being worked on by our technical team as we speak. As soon as we have an update for a fix and when payouts will be sent we will let everyone know.

This issue was brought to my attention on the community boards yesterday afternoon and I reported it and updated the thread to reflect that.

I also updated the 4 main threads on the payout issue this morning that it was being investigated.

 

We will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.

At the moment we are are waiting on the Tech Team to update us. We cant comment on when or if the payments will run. Unfortunately we dont have visibility on the functional side of the site.   

 

We will of course keep this as a high priority and update the threads as soon as we can.

So a wider issue, that you know about for a while, and you did not think to notify people?  there are payments that need to be made, and banks dont take silly excuses. Please, sort it out. Today.
