Hi everybody!
The Community Chat will open at 2pm and will remain open until 3pm on Wednesday. After that it will be closed for further questions. Of course, we will continue to take care of answering any questions that may still be unanswered—We’ll get to everything as quickly as possible.
Please ask your questions in the thread below. In order to be able to answer your questions as quickly as possible, we ask you to have one question per post. Of course, you can make as many posts as you like in the Chat- the more the merrier!
Our eBay Community Team is made up of kat@ebay , dave@ebay and marco@ebay . Between us, we have knowledge in Buying, Selling, Fulfilment, Payments, and the Community itself. Anything we aren’t sure on we’ll know the people who will be! Please ask us any questions you may have and we’ll do all we can to support. We understand that certain topics, such as concerns about businesses possibly using private accounts, can be frustrating and important to you. Please refrain from asking the same question repeatedly in our weekly live chats. We assure you that we carefully review all posts in the forum and ensure that your concerns are communicated to the relevant teams for appropriate action.
To maintain a constructive and community environment, posts that repeatedly breach this guideline may be removed. Continued violations could result in further action against your community account. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding in helping us keep our community focused and respectful.
To ask your question, click Reply in the lower-right corner of this post, type your question, and click Reply between 2pm and 3pm. The community team will answer each incoming question in chronological order and will quote the original question in each answer.
Please note that any reply without a question to the community team or discussion replies may be removed from the chat. We want to keep on track to get through as many questions as possible. We welcome all discussion to be moved to the discussion boards.
If you missed the weekly chat time, please ask your question in the community boards and tag us or we will be back next week with another chat!
Many thanks,
Your eBay Community Team

would it be a good idea to include large letters with items under £10 to have custom postage as well, so a postcard selling for £5 with postage 90p & not £2.74 but a comic selling for £5 has to post for £2.74 and not £1.55 or £1.80 ,the market place should be a fair place to trade,
Hi @dantwocats ,
There are no plans to include this right now but I'll share your point for the large letters with our shipping team as feedback.
Thank you,
Kat

Marco@eBay This is the most obvious question you could possibly have been asked this afternoon, or any afternoon.
It is inconceivable that you did not anticipate this, and perfectly clear that you should have sought an answer from those who do have visibility, before this session began.
You have been active on the forums recently, so you knew it was being widely discussed.
This is a business account, so SD isn't due to be rolled out at the moment, but the "loopholes" are enabling the vast number of bogus private sellers to continue to undercut the properly registered business sellers.
You must agree this is totally unsatisfactory.
Hi vinylscot, thanks for your reply.
It wouldn't be a case of not being aware, we are aware of the question. However, I cannot give you false/inaccurate information, if we knew when exactly this would happen, we would let you know, but as advised before we don't have visibility on the rollout of Simple Delivery. Also, if your account is a business account, then you wouldn't need to worry about simple delivery as it only applies to private accounts.
Anything else, please feel free to let us know.
Thank you,
Marco

The correct suggestion should be :
in Sporting Goods > Camping & Hiking > Camping & Hiking Clothing > Men's > Jackets & waterproofs
or
in Clothes, Shoes & Accessories > Men > Men's Clothing > Coats, jackets & waistcoats

Hi has Ebay stopped posting the invite link to join Complete Savings? I am interested to sign up for it but my last few purchases did not show such links. Thanks.

Hi @eshopforce01 ,
Thank you for the example. I'll log this with tech to have it checked. Once I get a further update I will let you know.
Thank you,

Hi tosi_6505, thanks for your question.
Complete savings is not available on eBay, I'm afraid.
Thank you,

Hi Guys
I run a number of multi-variation listings and want to check how these will be affected by the changes to promoted listings that come in later this month.
If someone clicks on an item in a muti-variation listing is it just the item they click on that now attracts a fee for all future purchasers? Or is it every single variation in the listing? In which case up to 250 different variations will now attract a promoted listing fee as a result of one person clicking the listing? If so is there a work around as it feels very unfair for the seller. Thanks. David
Hi @jamjartoys,
I sent this to the Ads team last week but I haven't got an answer yet. I'm chasing an update on it now.
I'll let you know as soon as I have an answer.
Thanks,
Dave

I have complete savings and eBay is still on there as of today. Sorry to jump in but are eBay planning on coming off that site?
04-06-2025 2:56 PM
Thanks Marco, do you when this was stopped? Any link I can refer to for the announcement? Importantly, is there any chance Ebay is working to bring this back?

Hi technthread, thanks for your reply.
I checked here, and I don't see eBay anywhere. It is a 3rd party app/site, so I'm not sure if you can use them externally going through them only. I can speak for us only, and you can see that in eBay this is nowhere to be seen. However, I will double check from my end to see if can be done externally, but definitely no through eBay directly.
Thank you,
Marco

Hi @dantwocats ,
There shouldn't be any difference to how the refund process works with Simple Delivery. It may be the case the funds were not showing as available yet on that transaction but a partial refund is still an option.

Kat

Hi tosi_6505, thanks for your reply.
I wouldn't be able to confirm when was this stopped, and I don't think we have an announcement available. I'm not aware of any plans for this to be brought back. I will double check from my end for further information, as I think you might be able to still use them through their website directly rather than using it on eBay directly, but I am not 100% sure. I will check and update you once I find out more about this.
Thank you,
Marco

If a multi quantity item is clicked any sales on the item within the window will incur the fee. So with the example on the other thread, if the item was clicked and the 9 items sold after the initial click, the seller would see the fee on each of the following transactions.
Again, apologies for the miss last week.
Thanks,
Dave

Hi tosi_6505 and @technthread,
I've just got confirmation that we are no longer working with Complete Savings, this is why they cannot be found in our pages or checkout window like it did before. However, apparently you can sign up with them, and you can still get points/vouchers for eBay transactions, but I wouldn't know that for sure as that would be information to be shared by them, not us. So, the best thing to do is contacting them directly, and ask them how it works and how much their subscription is, how to use it and where, etc.
Thank you,
Marco
