Hi everybody!
The Community Chat will open at 2pm and will remain open until 3pm on Wednesday. After that it will be closed for further questions. Of course, we will continue to take care of answering any questions that may still be unanswered—We’ll get to everything as quickly as possible.
Please ask your questions in the thread below. In order to be able to answer your questions as quickly as possible, we ask you to have one question per post. Of course, you can make as many posts as you like in the Chat- the more the merrier!
Our eBay Community Team is made up of kat@ebay , dave@ebay and marco@ebay . Between us, we have knowledge in Buying, Selling, Fulfilment, Payments, and the Community itself. Anything we aren’t sure on we’ll know the people who will be! Please ask us any questions you may have and we’ll do all we can to support. We understand that certain topics, such as concerns about businesses possibly using private accounts, can be frustrating and important to you. Please refrain from asking the same question repeatedly in our weekly live chats. We assure you that we carefully review all posts in the forum and ensure that your concerns are communicated to the relevant teams for appropriate action.
To maintain a constructive and community environment, posts that repeatedly breach this guideline may be removed. Continued violations could result in further action against your community account. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding in helping us keep our community focused and respectful.
To ask your question, click Reply in the lower-right corner of this post, type your question, and click Reply between 2pm and 3pm. The community team will answer each incoming question in chronological order and will quote the original question in each answer.
Please note that any reply without a question to the community team or discussion replies may be removed from the chat. We want to keep on track to get through as many questions as possible. We welcome all discussion to be moved to the discussion boards.
If you missed the weekly chat time, please ask your question in the community boards and tag us or we will be back next week with another chat!
Many thanks,
Your eBay Community Team

Is there any word on the issue with items in the Research section being shown as "This listing has been removed for a policy violation"? I had been posting in the forum in regards this, as its still ongoing as per the image attached

Hi custom-giftsuk, thanks for your question.
Not as of yet, I'm afraid. Once I get further information on it, I will update you in the thread you've created.
Thank you,
Marco

Good afternoon still some simple delivery problems when SD first started parcel postal prices were £3.44 but when small parcel option started all old listings under simple delivery jumped up to £3.64 & £5.15 ? so the Q is will these be reset to the right prices which is now £3.38, or are we expected to manually change all the wrong prices our self's ? which leads to the next Q ,, bulk edit .,its not working with simple delivery ,i have tried resetting the simple delivery postage price eras in bulk edit (only 10 at a time ) but just not working so had to change all individually to £3.38 small parcel, and the odd thing when you view listing price shows are £2.27 ? so still errors to sort , so Q any idea as to when ?

Good afternoon,
recently, and many times in the past, our eBay account has been heavily affetced by eBay's technical issues - all sorts. These resulted not just in stress, backlog, customer disappointment but also material damage.
When approached, eBay's Customer Service each time referred to the Agreement where basically it stated eBay would not be held accountable for any financial losses.
Just this year we are £10,000+ out of pocket due to your fault. So the question is: what sort of business realtionship is it? You take no responsibility whatsover and do not try to get things right. However, when a seller makes a mistake, you penalise them with defects, rating downgrades, loss of placement, increased fees or even being suspended. Does it seem right?

Hi nutrafituk, thanks for your question.
I understand where you're coming from, and I get that certain technical issue might not be ideal for you as a user, so we apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused, but to answer your question, I cannot add anything else really, and I'd refer you back to our user agreement here.
Thanks,
Marco

Hi @dantwocats ,
The below should be the postage rates for weight sizes
Bulk edit is not currently available. Listings need to be changed individually. Can you share some example item numbers where the postage cost is displaying incorrectly and I will send them on for review.
Thank you,
Kat

custom postage for letter post is still hit and miss ,one example is in some cigarette cards category's have custom postage and other cigarette cards category's do not ? so the Q is when will this be fixed please,
letter post items under £10 should all be custom postage by now but some are still showing as £2.74 with no CP option .so the Q is when will this be fixed as well,

In a recent weekly chat, you assured us that Simple Delivery would be fully rolled out and mandatory for all private sellers by 1st June.
It is now 4th June and the boards still have many posters who say their sales are not yet on SD, and others offering "workarounds" which obviously won't work once SD is fully implemented.
Once again, can you please provide a definite date by which SD will be in force on all private accounts as you (and eBay itself) have promised so often? This is really getting ridiculous, and is most unprofessional.

to many errors to list, but one is 156920708012 the item clearly is not a medium parcel and 156920161064 is clearly not a 2kg medium parcel both listed at £3.44 but changed by Ebay so Q when will these get changed back thank you

Thank you Marco for your response. We did not expect to hear anything else.
Having said that, it seems absolutely reasonable to have it looked into further. As these technical issues affected only some accounts, obviously that makes some sellers worse/better off. In that case, we are going to contact Competition and Markets Authority so they could establish whether you can exclude yourselves from being complicit.

Hi vinylscot, thanks for your question.
We don't really have visibility on the rollout of Simple Delivery, so we couldn't really confirm when exactly will be fully onboarded. However, is your account still not onboarded? If this is impacting your account in anyway, please let me know, and we could try to send that for review for you.
Thank you,
Marco

Thanks for your reply, nutrafituk.
Since we are not legal experts, we are unable to comment anything else on this. However, we will pass on your input on this, but please note that this doesn't necessarily means that there will be a follow up or something similar like that.
Thank you,
Marco

The suggested categories during listing haven't been working well for the past couple of weeks.
04-06-2025 2:39 PM
Marco@eBay This is the most obvious question you could possibly have been asked this afternoon, or any afternoon.
It is inconceivable that you did not anticipate this, and perfectly clear that you should have sought an answer from those who do have visibility, before this session began.
You have been active on the forums recently, so you knew it was being widely discussed.
This is a business account, so SD isn't due to be rolled out at the moment, but the "loopholes" are enabling the vast number of bogus private sellers to continue to undercut the properly registered business sellers.
You must agree this is totally unsatisfactory.

Hi @eshopforce01 ,
Can you share some example listings and I can get it reported.
Thank you,

would it be a good idea to include large letters with items under £10 to have custom postage as well, so a postcard selling for £5 with postage 90p & not £2.74 but a comic selling for £5 has to post for £2.74 and not £1.55 or £1.80 ,the market place should be a fair place to trade,

Hi Guys
I run a number of multi-variation listings and want to check how these will be affected by the changes to promoted listings that come in later this month.
If someone clicks on an item in a muti-variation listing is it just the item they click on that now attracts a fee for all future purchasers? Or is it every single variation in the listing? In which case up to 250 different variations will now attract a promoted listing fee as a result of one person clicking the listing? If so is there a work around as it feels very unfair for the seller. Thanks. David

Hi @dantwocats ,
Thank you for those. I'll have them reviewed
