Note to sellers - I will never be buying anything from anyone anymore who uses Evri for delivery, simple as that. I will also never be using them for delivering anything I occasionally sell. They are beyond incompetent, pure and simple.
I bought an item couple of weeks ago that was dispatched promptly and has been out for delivery to a parcel shop now since Tuesday 16th Sept and due for delivery by 18th. Today, 25th it's still not been delivered and absolutely no indication of when it will ever be delivered and absolutely no communication from Evri despite repeated initial promises to sort out that have now dried up.
All communication with Evri has been by emails which initially receive a default cut & paste reply with a promise that's never met but more than likely ignored when difficult questions are asked! The AI chat bot is just plain useless and Evri have a deliberate firewall policy making it as difficult as possible to contact so they can hide to the barrage of complaints and therefore don't have to deal with issues they cause.
Mistakes always happen but how a company deals with it is how they're judged, not the opinions of satisfied customers - more than 1 in 10 customers on Trust Pilot think their service is absolutely terrible, which is a clear indicator of their actual service.
Had I known at the point of sale Evri were being used, I'd not have completed the purchase of this item but once dispatch details were received I opted to get it delivered to a parcel shop as I thought they surely couldn't mess that up, but of course they have.
I called to the parcel shop to see if they could shed light on it or if delivered without being scanned in. I got a full and categorical explanation from the staff of their option of Evri, which just confirmed my opinions. Even the staff there say that Evri are an "absolute disaster". They get parcels for the wrong shop, wrong town and even the wrong county. Parcels are frequently weeks late if they ever arrive and the drivers refuse to lift incorrectly delivered parcels! The shop staff were very helpful but their opinion of the service Evri provide is scathing and told me I'd be lucky if my parcel ever arrives now! They said the level of complaints about Evri from customers is just a joke.

I felt this way about Yodel, who are the same parent company as EVRI. The only light at the end of the tunnel is that DHL has recently purchased EVRI. Maybe they drag EVRI into the 21st century?

No, they did not. The companies are merging their UK e-commerce delivery operations, with Evri acquiring DHL eCommerce UK and DHL Group taking a minority stake in Evri. The merger, which creates a combined entity set to handle over a billion parcels annually, received unconditional approval from UK regulators (just this month, actually), and is expected to be completed soon. The combined operation will launch Evri premium, a new service using DHL's premium network for high-value items.

I don't know why you keep saying that Yodel and EVRi have the same parent company when they do not. EVRi is owned by Apollo Global Management and Otto Group whereas Yodel is owned by Judge Logistics who were recently acquired by InPost who are owned by Integer pl.
