Hi All, recently had to open up a new paypal account and cant connect it with ebay

Hi All

As paypal has now changed to mobile numbers for extra security I found out my old paypal account had an old mobile attached. In the end I had to start a new paypal account under a new email as it is not possible to communicate with paypal in any way to get any problem sorted out and I could not access old account.

Now I also find I cannot change my paypal account on ebay to the new one and again it is impossibe to contact paypal or ebay re this. You go through the motions that ebay describe bit it does not work. Am I going to have to start a new ebay account as well?

Surely you could have edited the Mobile Number on Paypal BEFORE getting to this stage. Your paypal account is not set in stone. How have you tried adding a new Email to ebay, without knowing what you have done it is impossible to suggest a way round.

Thanks John, that's really helpful, yes if I had known it would be made
impossible to get into your account I would have done so. I do not use it a
huge amount.
I go to buy and it automatically comes up with the old email and paypal
account and I cannot change it to the new. I go to 'paypal manage' in the
ebay account and it lets me put in the new email address and register the
new address but it does not change on the purchase screen. It is a known
problem as I can see issues on line but I cannot see a solution and there
does not seem to be anyway to contact either paypal or ebay direct.

Ebay's contact details are in Help & Contact, with Live Chat and request-a-callback available during working hours.

And PayPal's contact details are available on their website.

So I'm not sure why you're having problems contacting either of them. But Ebay can't help you with this anyway - it's PayPal you need to contact.
