Getting sick of sellers advertising items for a false price.

sellers advertising items at a shown price, then as soon as you choose a colour or size the price shoots up. And theres nothing in the drop down for price advertised. This is false info, good to attract buyers but a waste of buyers time. if they are lying about price are they lying about other things described ?

InsideThe93 of course you can, but why should anyone be forced to take that trouble?

Will you say why it would not be better for eBay to throw out bogus Posts?

I do not doubt what you say, and why can you not ask eBay to enforce the terms and conditions Post at the time of sale?

Clearly you are correct both in identifying the original problem and in saying the solution is that the price must be for the item shown…

If you believe there is a 'simple…' way to persuade eBay to comply with that idea, will you say what that is?

Yes, you can click 'contact the seller…' and how might that be helpful?

D'you believe any of us could understand what you meant by 'why ebay does nothing or Chinee no savvy…'?

You might be right about it costing eBay 'too much…' to enforce rules but who 'supposed…' that? Will you post any figures, or is that pure speculation?

Will you rephrase 'The Chinee mean well, the time wasting deceit is not understood…'? Did you not realise 'Chinee…' is a purely derogatory, racist term?

Will you rephrase '… the time-wasting deceit is not understood…' to mean anything in English? '… not understood…' seems to mean what it says on the tin but what does '…the time-wasting deceit…' mean and where does it come from?

I avoid these sellers now, and if you look at there feedback they really have lots of red negative remarks.

As soon as i see any kind of choice drop down, I go.

I buy from anyone private or business who dont do it this way.

Of course if its shoes/clothes a size option is to be expected.

Mostly they only cause confusion and advertise 10 items for this price and you dont get that!

Avoid Avoid.

I wish i could get rid of them in a search and find only private sellers as an option.

I feedback to eBay on pages where its full of tacy clothes and cheap china goods.

eBay have really turned me off buying and selling now 24/06/25

Sorry for the delay in replying, I've only just seen your post.

My post wasn't about bogus posts. Going back through the thread of who I was replying to, who they were replying to and so on back a bit, I was explaining, for those posters and readers who didn't know, how to contact the seller. There are several ways of course, but sometimes people don't notice the contact link at the top of the page as I explained. I was merely giving information and my post should pleas not have any deeper meaning than that read into it.

I don't know why you believe I think eBay shouldn't "throw out bogus posts"? - I feel suddenly under attack for a reason I can't fathom. Have I accidentally offended you in some way? - if so, I apologise. I don't think and certainly didn't/don't intend anything untoward, and I hope none of my posts mistakenly give that impression. However, it does depend what "bogus posts" means as it could be a very subjective term and one that seems to have suddenly appeared; so far I haven't been able to trace back to where it started in order to find out. Rather than open that can of worms or potential booby-trap, as regards "bogus posts" I can only say that I believe posters are entitled to air their opinion here as long as it's legal, morally inoffensive, honest and civil. I support the fact that discussion boards are moderated as sometimes people give vent inappropriately. but it's not eBay that throws out "bogus posts" but the moderators who're volunteers qualified due to their knowledge and experience of eBay. Indeed, the impression I get is that eBay itself rarely if ever looks at posts.

If what I've written has misunderstood you or if you think I'm not making sense, please would you explain? But please note I now rarely look at the discussion boards as I now visit eBay less and less often, so I apologise in advance for a less than prompt reply.

Not sure why you're replying to me? All I have said (and not to you specifically) is that too many sellers on eBay are showing a picture of a product along with a price tag that is for a completely unrelated item. To me this is "false advertising" and there are a lot people out there agreeing with me.

Getting sick of sellers advertising items for a false price.

'

So I went to Google & typed out...

"uk, report an ebay seller price jump false advertising" - then it said...

1. Report the Listing:
If you see a listing with a misleading price, use the "Report item" option, usually found under "Other" or "More actions."

BUT

Neither are appearing, leaving me 'dead in the water' before I've even started.

So, have they done away with "Report Item" as it's all gone "Lord Lucan" on my page layout.

Can anyone steer me into where I should report the DOZENS of false misleading advertising for SHIRTS that magically double or even triple in price, once I've gone from 'Size' to 'Colour' or vice-versa.

So infuriating trying find an honest seller NOT doing false advertising prices, as, quite frankly, I'm kinda losing the will to live here, trawling through countless sellers who's prices automatically jump like a Mexican Bean & same thing keeps happening after browsing (say) Fifteen different listings.

Just puts me off buying.

So : Where is the quick link to report these false advertising "lure me in" prices**

  ** ( without going through hoops ? )
