It's an Honour and a great privilage to get this one back signed.

I sent this book "The Year book of Astronomy 1982" Edited by the great Patrick Moore, Picked up in a local charity shop for 50p, off to him on the 15th of April. The book has been returned today with a letter from Sir Patrick saying he has done his best to sign my book and thanking me for the request.

Sir Patrick Alfred Caldwell-Moore, CBE, HonFRS, FRAS (born 4 March 1923 in Pinner) is a British amateur astronomer who has attained prominent status in astronomy as a writer, researcher, radio commentator and television presenter of the subject, and who is credited as having done more than any other to raise the profile of astronomy among the British general public. He is a former president of the British Astronomical Association, co-founder and former president of the Society for Popular Astronomy or SPA, author of over 70 books on astronomy, and presenter of the longest running television series (with the same original presenter) in the world, The Sky at Night on the BBC. As an amateur astronomer, he became known as a specialist on observing the Moon and creating the Caldwell catalogue. Idiosyncrasies such as his rapid diction and his monocle have made him a popular figure on other British television shows

very nice reply mate,has his signature detiorated with age and illness recently? only i did hear something  about that somewhere,also heard lauren bacall has also detiorated ,often signing with 3
