I had heard of others getting this some time back, so just assumed my request was a dead duck in the postal system.
After 459 days c/o Tovern Productions inc, I got my pics back unsigned with a slip saying Ernest only signs at events now. My letter was also returned, so I doubt if Ernest saw it.
Happy to know it is a no go via this route. Much better than having no reply at all, and not knowing one way or the other.

Doh! Sorry, should say, that was Ernest Borgnine.

shame about that Nigel although at least they gave you a honest answer unlike other celebs who just send a dodgy sec or something.

#5 - That's the way it goes in this hobby Daz. Some you win, some you lose. At the end of the day, although we all want a successful reply to our requests, I would prefer more did this than send secretarials or preprints. This is an honest response, and tells you straight where you stand.
Had a couple of nice replies today, but will post them tonight when I scan them.

#6 Agree entirely. I would rather know than have a secretarial or autopen. At least the piccies came back.

Bad luck Nigel. I missed him by one day when he was signing his book a while back. 😞 Totally agree about knowing how things stand rather than getting a worthless sec.
