I THINK THE NEW FORMAT IS RUBBISH, ITS JUST SO COMPLICATED...OH AND IVE LOST LOADS OF ADDYS BECAUSE ALL MY PREVIOUS PRIVATE MESSAGES HAVE DISAPPEARED................WELL DONE EBAY....NOT!!!!

annoying to lose addresses , how do we /can we still do private messages on here?

Carl - I agree it is stupid they have cleared down the messages without warning, but if they have done the job right, they should have a backup of the old message system, so we can work out who best to contact at eBay and see what they have dome with the old messages.

I am full of praise for the new design. It is much closer to accepted modern web standards, and has addressed many issues. I will enjoy using it, and I suspect once everyone has got used to the change it will be quite popular.

What stinks is the way they managed the change. Poor communication of how long it would take. Poor communication of how to use the new look groups. Poor communication to groups they would be blanking personal messages. Sadly, this is typical of eBay. They do not care about people, just end results and profit.

It's a little confusing at first sight but, I'm willing to give the new format a chance. I let you know if I still like it when I try to post a reply. If I ever get a reply!

All new to me too Carl, but how much easier is it to post pics etc. Wanted to post a video of us at waddington air show but it has to be via youtube, don't know how to do that LOL .

Sorry Carl, looks like they are gone for good. The consenus on the Q&A boards is that eBayers had plenty of opportunity to read the groups about the changes, and should have seen the notices informing that pms were being deleted permanently.

Personally, I think that is a big thing, and when they posted the general notice at the front of every group, it should have included this news in bold text.

this format is far superior to the last one folks,,its a thumbs up from me,,will take some time getting used too,like most new group set ups,,the only problem i can see,is that it hasnt recognised me as the leader of the group,or the others as moderators,,,,can everyone edit posts?

Anything new takes a while to get used to,and I didn't realise we would lo all our messages either

one big problem for me,is the fact, there is no group leader,or mods,it would seem that ebay now alone,have the power to ban/remove people,i can edit posts i see,and invite new members,but thats about all?i reckon you now have to report posts to ebay for any action to be taken,which means that idiots who join will be a nightmare to get rid off,, hope this is just a technical issue that needs correcting,otherwise i ant going to be happy

Should have warned us about loosing the old messages, I also had some info I'd have liked to have from there. Hope E-bay can sort us out.

As Nigel said I'm loking forward to using the new format..looks interesting and plenty more options available..can members edit their posts now?

The edit is interesting Alex.

If you make a new post, you cannot edit it, but can delete it if no-one has replied. Once someone replies, you cannot delete the post that started a thread.

You can edit replies you make, and you can also delete replies you make.

At the top of the screen where it says "Hi," followed by your name, hover over your name then click onthe image space. It will load the page where you choose your image. I decided to use the opportunity to change mine for a fresh start.
