Nice to see a couple creep in today.
Gary Plumley - 65 days
Gary kindly signed my 8x5 inch Watford card. A goalkeeper with long career in Wales. He only ever played one game for Watford - the 1986/87 FA Cup Semi Final which Watford lost 4-1 to Spurs. Gary was son of then Watford chief exec Eddie Plumley and had retired, but when Tony Coton got injured, GT signed Gary as cover for Steve Sherwood. Steve apparently dislocated his finger (although he has always said he was fit to play), so GT played Gary in goal. It was a shame in many ways as Watford had been playing well prior to this and it promised to be a good semi against a very good Spurs side at teh time. Sadly, the inexperienced and out of shape goalkeeper put the whole team of kilter and they were easily beaten on the day. It was never Gary's fault, he clearly did the best he could. Still a good day out, but you always wonder what would have happened in Steve had played in goal instead.
John Challis - 4 days
John is brilliant, and a great friend to autograph collectors. He kindly signed my 4x6 inch Doctor who photo and sent an initialled note.
