I picked tis up in Blackburn on Friday.............Rovers have done me proud over the years in local Charity shops.
I found this large full colour brouchure titled "back to the Top" The dream comes true for Blackburn Rovers, Not about the premieership winning season of 94-95 but how they managed to win the play off final against Leicester on May 25th 1992 to reach the Premier league. Mission impossible completed, We've made it, The highs and lows of the season, a brief write up of all the squad players involved...........................I'd have paid a quid for it as it is..............but when you get to the final page, the one put aside for autographs....it has five on it.
First up Rovers Keeper on the day Bobby Mimms, Ironic as he was the only graph I got IP pre season last week!
Next up Striker Mike Newell, he was here as Stanley last season doing some coaching with the strikers...Not here this season though.
No 3 is Gordon Cowans that veteran Midfielder, Ex England internation who spent many a year at Aston Villa.
No 4 is Alan Sheraer, Don't need to say anything about this man, Greatest Striker ever to play in the Premier league. Alan did not sign for Rovers until the following season so don't know when this was signed? But it is lAan Shearers graph and not the Duncan Shearer who was in the Rovers squad in 1992.
And fnally No 5...Rovers manager and "King of the Kop" Kenny Dalglish.
Best £1 I've spent for a while.
