On the way back from taking the dog for a walk yesterday morning I passed a woman getting out of a car who said "Morning" I had to look twice then realised who it was...The actress who plays Hayley Cropper in "Coronation Street. couldn't for the life of me think of her real name "Good morning to you too and what are you doing in Clayton-Le-Moors on a Saturday morning" Mum's just bought a bungalow here and moved in this week so I'm paying her a visit. IP opportunities are not to be missed so arranged to take that Julie Goodyear signed "Corrie"book round for her to sign. And she was more than happy to do so.
Her name is Julie Hesmondhalgh and she was born in Accrington. Had a couple of minutes chatting and left her to it...Really nice lady and I wished her well in her futeur career, soon to be leaving the street. Juie was born in Accrington, aother local lass come good. As a teenager, she was moderately interested in acting, but wished to become a social worker. She applied to drama school to be with her friends, and studied at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art from 1988 to 1991.
Hayley Anne Cropper (née Hayley Patterson, previously Harold Patterson) is a fictional character in the UK television ITV soap opera, Coronation Street. Portrayed by actress Julie Hesmondhalgh, the character first appeared onscreen during the episode airing on 26 January 1998. Hayley was the first transgender character in a British soap opera and was the first permanent transgender character in the world of serialised drama.[1] Hesmondhalgh announced her departure from the show on 11 January 2013, and she will depart in January 2014 in a 'right to die' storyline after being diagnosed with terminal cancer.

Great opportunity taken Alex. Two cracking signatures in the book. I don't really know many Corrie people after the mid 80s, so have not come across Julie. Really pleased for you mate, and I hope you get the opportunity to add more sigs.

Great opportunity for a sig, Alex. She's signed it really nicely.
Isn't it awful when you can't think of their name? The last thing you want to do is call them by the characters name.
