Had replies from two ex players via private addresses.

David Robert Merrington played for Burnley, playing 98 league games including a spell as captain. He later played for Bristol City before retiring and going into coaching . Merrington was a brief caretaker manager for Sunderland A.F.C. following the departure of Jimmy Adamson in 1978, and in 1980 he again took over from Adamson as caretaker manager (for 1 game only) at Leeds. He took charge of Southampton for the 1995-96 season and was Premiership Manager of the Month in April 1996, his only full season in management. 

Doug Fraser after being rejected by both Celtic and Leeds United following trials turned professional with Aberdeen. Fraser's form attracted the attention of West Bromwich Albion and manager Jimmy Hagan paid £23,000 for his signature.  Fraser played in four cup finals during his time at The Hawthorns and also made two appearances for Scotland against Cyprus and the Netherlands. Manager Alan Ashman sold him to Nottingham Forest for £35,000 in 1970. He would later play for Walsall where after his retirement Fraser was appointed to the manager's chair at Walsall and held the position until 1977.

Two great replies i like the Fraser reply a lot mate being he played for Scotland i think i remember reading about him from some old programmes i have from that period .
