06Nov10 - 1 In Person Book Signing

Met Darren Anderton at a local book signing today as he signed copies of his biography Take Note!. He still looks very youthful, and has a dry sense of humour I was not expecting.

As well as his own biography which he signed/dedicated for me, Darren kindly became the 5th signature in my Spurs Player by Player coffee table book, and he also signed my tickets from the England v Romania and England v Colombia matches at the 1998 World Cup in France. Darren of course scored the opening goal against Colombia on 20 minutes.

Great signed items. Like the book. He will be in Waterstones, Milton Keynes in early December so will be able to get his book then.

Since we moved here just over 3 years ago I have been to book signings for Graham Poll, Ricky Villa, Ossie Ardiles, Gary Mabbutt and now Darren Anderton. Bob Wilson was the only other signing of note during this time but I already have a couple of his books signed. Ironically Ricky Villa is back again soon. So not many really for the time frame compared to many towns.

Graham Poll back in 2007 was a nice chap. When I presented him with a 10x8 of him from the infamous 2006 Croatia v Australia game, he signed it and said he was surprised more people were not getting him to sign photos from that game.
