This is not a *slimming club* really.

I think it would be nice to have a place to come & chat about weight loss ideas (safe sensible ones only please!),
to share personal experiences and achievements, and also to ask for help.

Lindi is our resident expert, and has kindly offered her help.
Just introduce yourself and come on in, you are most welcome!

Hi Kate - good luck on your first week at SW.

Once you get into their eating plan it's really easy. I follow all green days.

Well done on not eating the pizza :0)

Hi Kate! Welcome & good luck with SW, it's also a great plan.

& Hi to everyone else too
I was a good girl (lol) on friday night, decided I didn't want the usual take-away & had a jacket salad instead (with tuna & cheese), hubs still had his "full monty" though & it didn't bother me a bit.
Felt a lot better for it lol.
Well, i'm off to the isle of wight this afternoon & have packed the ryvita's etc so am going to be as good as I can!
I am going to start tracking tomorrow (honest) & hope to be doing a lot of walking etc.
Bro's comp' plays up sometimes so I don't know if I will get chance to post while i'm there but we will see (hopefully it will be up & running).
Either way I hope you all do well this week & will chat again soon.
Have a good one 😄

Oh God I have felt rough today, three days in and I thought I was going to pass out.

Hubby said it was because my system was used to all the rubbish I used to eat and that I was de-toxing!!

Is this normal?

Hi Kate

It can be. Your body is so used to eating unhealthily that it is adjusting to healthy food. Make sure you are eating enough - with Slimming World you can literally eat as much of the free foods as you like, so you should never feel hungry.

I know when I started eating healthily I kept having cravings for sweet foods and biscuits - after a while they disappeared and now I just don't want them anymore. Which for me is a shock lol! (bit of a crisp-a-holic).

Good luck - are you following green or red days, or a mixture of both?

Jay

Hi

I've been going to ww since feb and now lost 2.5 stone. Went through a patch where nothing much happened, then went back to work (after having a baby) and its been falling off again. Probably first time Mcdonalds has done someone any good!!!
Although the last few days I seem to have lived on ww ready meals, mini choc muffins and cherry bakewells....to then lose 4.5lbs this week!
LOL

Hi Jay,

I am alternating the days, as I love chicken and fish etc, but seem to want to fill up on spuds and pasta the next day. Is this OK to do??

Am feeling much better today, I think I may have been a bit dehydrated 'cos I drank 3 pints of water and started to feel more normal!

Hi Kate

Mixing green and red days is fine - most people do. I only stick to green because I'm vegetarian.

I went to my weigh in at SW last night and I've lost 2.5 lbs. Really pleased with that. Here's hoping I stick to it this week and lose some more.

Drinking lots of water is great - makes your skin look good too. I keep a large bottle in the fridge and fill it with water every day now. I stick in some ice and it's lovely. Mind you, I love the diet pepsi too..... (bid addicted to that).

Here is my story.
I am 5'5.5" except I seem to have shrunk a bit. I am 52 and three quarters and I weigh 13st 2lbs if I stand on the scales very carefully and lean forward a bit.

so I am probably about 13st 7lbs.

I need to lose 2 - 2.5 stone and I have been trying everything to no avail. In desperation yesterday I bought some Boots slimfast shakes and soups. I have given up alcohol and chocolate and bread. I recently stopped drinking for three weeks (and I drink at LOT) and absolutely nothing happened! Gutted or what. I signed up for weightwatchers but it is so difficult at lunch times especially as I hate salad.

I have a month to a convention I am going to and I want to look less blobby. If I don't lose any weight on the slimfast, being very strict, should I be seeing my doctor to see if my thyroid gland is not working?

What does anyone one think?

Hello all btw and this is a good idea!

You could go to the doctors, if nothing else for a general check up.

Do you exercise? I find that shifts the pounds quicker.

What does being a member of Weight Watchers have to do with eating salad for lunch? I don't. Today I had sausages, egg, grilled mushrooms and tomatoes with a slice of toast. Where is the salad in that? I have ham in my rolls (yes with salad to make it fatter) or low fat cheese or beef or tuna. I eat pasta, pizza, even chips, baked potato, soup, paella, the list goes on and on. On Weight Watchers you eat exactly what you want to eat just stay within your points. It works for millions of people so it should work for you.

Fad diets - shakes etc - may make you lose weight quickly but you won't be able to keep the weight off once you eat proper food again. Plus not being able to have chocolate or alcohol is more likely to make you crave it.

If you seriously want to lose weight (and believe me many people say they do when really they don't) then you have to change your whole outlook on eating. Set goals and stick to them. Don't expect to get slim overnight cos without major surgery that just ain't gonna happen! You need to exercise (even just a 20 mins brisk walk every day), drink 2 litres of water every day and stick to the ww points. The wight will come off. (I have lost almost 50 lbs following it.)

Hi everyone

Really chuffed this week as lost 1.5lbs (back to where I was a month ago lol).

Well done Jay. Hopefully we're getting a bit back on track. Wonder how Sparkle's getting on on her hols!?

Kate - I felt pretty bad a few days after starting the diet but it really didn't last and it's def worth sticking to it.

Modern Art - that's fantastic loss, well done.

Rentawitch - I love the odd salad but there is no way I could live on it. Ivvie's right - you really don't need to try to become a rabbit which is why I like WW so much.

Yes, lunches etc do take some thought but it can be done. Today, I had tomato & lentil soup, a ham & tomato sandwich and a mullerlite yoghurt for lunch (4.5 points total). I felt full and really enjoyed it. Good luck.

lol! I don't drink anymore due to the medication I take, which is a bit of a pain. I love cider I must admit, and I miss it 😞

Mind you, doing my weight loss plan loads of good. 🙂

Hi scouser on line. Depression is a really difficult issue as some forms of depression are controlled by what you eat. White bread, pasta, and I am afraid chocolate, all release feel good chemicals iincluding seretonin. So whilst your trying to be good your body may not be getting what it needs. Try small quantities of 70% cocoa solid choc, this will give a good hit with less calories.
