When an item disappears from your purchase list it usually means it's been removed by ebay and often the seller's account has been suspended. If so you won't be able to open a return on ebay but contact your payment provider instead and ask them about a refund.
Another possibility is you bought the item while logged out. Then you would be classed as a guest buyer. If so here is how you check:
