Hello,
navigating the ‘help & support’ options is like pulling teeth. You would think that, a company as big as this would have telephone support. They claim to do, but where is it? The auto-bot may as well be not in operation. It is more of a hindrance than anything.
Anyway, I’m hoping to get some help, please.
A Yodel driver has delivered a parcel to a newsagents and my delivery location choice. They took a picture of a parcel with the delivery, name & address obscured. Unreadable. The parcel is about A4 in size. My parcel, with a fair price tag attached, is roughly 5ft tall & 2 inches wide. So, my package could not possibly have been delivered. This is the only item that I’ve bought. The chat bot suggests I return the package. But there is no package to return. The A4 package with blocked out label, is not traceable at the shop. I’ve known the couple/owners for years and 100% trust them. The lady in the shop, said the driver took a picture of the A4 parcel and walked out of the shop with it. They deal with hundreds of parcels every week. ‘Track my package’ has been labelled as delivered. The photo of this mystery package, is also showing with the label obscured.
Something doesn’t seem right here, obviously. Where do I go from here, as the help section just leads me into a labyrinth.
thank you.

Next time, if you post in Discussion > Buying you may receive a quicker reply 😉
Do not open an Item Not Received Case, because eBay will find against you when tracking shows 'delivered'. Instead take all the details you have gathered:
- Parcel impossibly small.
- Name/address obscured.
and ask eBay for a callback (just keep requesting live agent in Chat) to explain this delivery was not your parcel. When something similar happened to me, eBay CS refunded me straight away. Best to try in the morning after 8am. Good luck!
This is easier than going to your bank, but if it doesn't work take that same evidence to your girlfriend's payment provider to request a chargeback. Good luck!

That's amazing that the driver would walk out of the shop with the parcel in full view of the shop owner!
And doubly amazing that your parcel's tracking is on the wrong parcel.
Two scams in one purchase.

It was strange. Roll on 24 hours and the driver brought my 5ft long package to the shop. The lady in the shop, said he just placed it in the parcels box and left, without saying anything to the lady.
Other than something dodgy, why would he take the first picture of the A4 size parcel - not have it scanned, and walk out with it. If it were me, I would want to explain to the shopkeeper what’s going on. Rather than come in 24hrs later and leave the other parcel without any interaction with the shopkeeper. Just to add, the A4 size parcel is placed right next to the handheld scanner on the counter. Maybe the driver thought it may seem legit if he has this picture.
Then, 24hrs later, he has had a rethink. No other explanation, tbh.
Thanks for the reply, though. Also for the advice.

Hi there, the very first thing l thought was that the driver will be back with the actual parcel, especially as he was so brazen about scanning the wrong package in front of the shop owners.
I think it was because the driver was overloaded with deliveries. I believe Yodel and Evri drivers are self employed, so their parent companies can overload them and break them, without culpability. My local one works well into the evening, l see him unloading parcels outside his garage. He must be doing 10-12 hour days.
