This is the first time I've listed anything on eBay. The listing expires tomorrow and someone has bid the asking price. Do I make contact with the buyer or do they contact me?

You don't do anything until the auction has ended. There are still 10 hours left and you may get more bids.
Once the auction has ended, then send a message to the winning bidder to arrange a convenient day/time to collect and pay cash on collection.
