No - ironically it is the EU that have tried to enforce that maxim _ in international law there is no requirement for someone wishing to claim asylum to do so in the first safe country they reach.

 

Another reason why leaving the EU would have the opposite effect on the number of asylum requests being made in the UK than many expect.
